M. Brent Leonhard is the Deputy Attorney General for the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation, the first tribal jurisdiction (along with the State of Ohio) to be designated by the Department of Justice as having substantially implemented the Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act requirements. He is also a principle author of the Model Tribal Sex Offender Registration Code.
